Responsible for all aspects of planning, coordinating, facilitating, and supervising ESY.
Program Planning, Development, Coordination
- Develop a comprehensive ESY program plan, including scheduling, curriculum, and service delivery methods.
- Ensure the program aligns with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and complies with legal requirements (e.g., IDEA).
- Determine program locations and secure appropriate facilities and resources.
- Collaborate with the Director of Student Services, department heads, and school administrators to align ESY services with district goals.
- Coordinate with the transportation department to arrange van routes and schedules, ensuring students’ needs are met.
- Work closely with related service providers (e.g., speech therapists, and occupational therapists) to integrate required services into the ESY program.
- Ensure that information is shared with ESY staff.
Parent/Guardian Communication
- Prepare and send parent notification letters regarding ESY eligibility, program details, and logistics.
- Serve as the main point of contact for parent inquiries, providing timely updates and addressing concerns.
- Facilitate communication between families and staff to ensure a smooth transition into the ESY program.
Staffing/Onboarding
- Recruit, hire, and onboard qualified teachers, paraprofessionals, BTECs, TAs, and related services.
- Provide safety training and orientation for ESY staff, including program goals, expectations, and specific student needs.
- Create and distribute staff schedules, assignments, classroom rooms, and resources.
On-Site Oversight and Support
- Monitor daily program operations to ensure adherence to plans and smooth service delivery.
- Provide on-site supervision, support staff, and address any issues that arise.
- Observe classrooms to ensure instructional quality and alignment with IEP goals.
Compliance and Documentation
- Maintain accurate documentation of attendance, student progress, and staff performance.
- Ensure all services provided are documented in accordance with IEP requirements and district policies.
- Collect and compile data on student progress for end-of-program reporting.
Post-Program Responsibilities
- Evaluate the program’s effectiveness and gather feedback from staff and families ( via a Survey).
- Meet with the Director of Student Service, Assistant Directors, and Department Heads to debrief.
- Answer any pending family/guardian questions/concerns.
- Ensure liaisons received copies of ESY progress reports.
