Title I Technology Facilitator

 

Job Goal: Working under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning, the Title I Technology Facilitator will collaborate with the Director of Curriculum, Assessment and Accountability, the PK-5 Department Head for ELA, and the Title I Reading Teacher to manage and provide ongoing support for hardware devices, peripherals, and software applications for K-5 Title I students. This role will also include continuous assistance to WPS staff, students, and families to ensure effective implementation of technology tools supporting reading instruction for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year.

 

*This is an annually and federally funded Title I Grant Stipend. 

 

Performance Responsibilities: 

 

Monitoring iPad Usage

  • Regularly review device usage reports through the Mobile Device Management (MDM) system to ensure compliance with appropriate usage policies.
  • Monitor application usage and reading progress to confirm alignment with Title I reading goals.
  • Identify and address issues related to inappropriate or non-educational use of devices.
  • Communicate with students, families, and WPS staff about proper iPad care, usage guidelines, and troubleshooting.
  • Track engagement with specific educational applications and report findings to the Title I team.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to resolve issues impacting device functionality or student access to learning tools.
  • Ensure that installed applications and software are up-to-date and functioning as intended.
  • Collaborate with the Title I Reading Teacher to assess the effectiveness of iPad usage in supporting reading growth.

Software/Applications 

  • Set up software accounts for any additional applications required for Title I reading support.
  • Test student accounts to ensure access and functionality across all applications.
  • Assist students and families in resolving account access issues promptly.
  • Monitor applications for updates and ensure timely updates are pushed to devices via the Mobile Device Management (MDM) system.
  • Collaborate with WPS staff to identify and implement new applications that enhance reading instruction.
  • Provide training and guidance to students, families, and staff on the use of educational applications when needed.

Device Maintenance and Management

  • Conduct a mid-year check-in with all devices in March to inspect for damage, functionality issues, and ensure devices are operating as intended.
  • Address any identified issues by coordinating repairs or replacements as necessary.
  • Collect all devices, accessories, and peripherals from students at the end of the school year.
  • Ensure devices are properly inventoried, cleaned, and stored for future use.
  • Document the condition of each device upon collection and report any significant findings to the Title I team.

Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong technology skills, be adept at utilizing the 

devices and applications outlined above, and have the capacity to develop and maintain accurate systems to organize data and devices. 

 

Reports to: Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning 

 

Work Year: The Title I Technology Facilitator will perform the duties of this position outside of contractual working hours over the course of the 2024-2025 school year. 

 

Compensation: $3,500 Title I Stipend to be fulfilled by/before 06/30/25 in SY 2024-2025 MTRS Eligible
