Title I Literacy Facilitator (Stipend) SY24-25
Job Goal: To support the literacy development of students by collaborating with the Title I Reading Teacher to create targeted, home-based activities that align with classroom goals. Foster strong partnerships with families, and empower them with strategies and resources to enhance literacy at home. Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and facilitate workshops to engage parents in the literacy development process, ensuring continuous growth for each student.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Title I Reading Teacher to develop targeted literacy activities that are aligned with classroom goals for students to practice at home
- Preview activities with students as needed and communicate with families about student goals via phone, email or in person
- Partner with families to promote literacy at home, providing strategies and resources for engagement
- Co -facilitate workshops or meetings with parents to share insights about student literacy development
- Monitor and assess student progress, sharing updates and recommendations with families
Qualifications:
Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with students, parents, and colleagues.
Collaboration: Ability to work closely with the Title I Reading Teacher and other school staff to align goals and create a cohesive plan for supporting students.
Knowledge of Literacy Strategies and Resources
Reports to: Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning
Work Year: The Title I Literacy Facilitator will perform the duties of this position outside of contractual working hours over the course of the 2024-2025 school year.
Compensation: $1,700 Title I Stipend to be fulfilled by/before 06/30/25 in SY 2024-2025 MTRS Eligible
